What it means to me to be One is to know that this body is not all that I am. This body is the individualized expression of God which is known as Joan Doyle. This expression is unique and will never be recreated in this universe but it is also part or the One Energy or Essence of all of life. The Energy that expresses also as a star, my cat, an ant, a mountain, a planet, a word, an action, a sound, as light, as an idea, as everything in existence. As every atom and molecule, as the seen and the unseen, as everything we know and all that we do not. All that existed or will ever exist to the infinity of time and space. It is unfathomable to our minds - the Allness and the Oneness of the source and substance of our being.
And this Oneness of all of life means that what I do to another I do to myself, for if we are all one it is One Energy interacting with itself as various individualized expressions. This Oneness means I have enormous freedom to choose my actions and my reality. I being one with the Creative Power behind the universe am also creative and being in the flow of my Oneness, all the attributes of this Essence are available to me. This Oneness means I am a very powerful channel of the energy and so are all others. If I choose to use this Energy with love, love is returned to me, if I choose hatred this also returns to me. The Oneness is like a circulating system not unlike the blood system in the body. The energy returns to its source in me as I express it.
The One Source being creative and a Power for growth and expansion and greater expression of Itself means that despite any negative use of the power it cannot destroy itself. Like a tree that pushes its way up through a crack in the sidewalk this Power pushes through each individual, urging us to grow toward the light. It constantly keeps inspiring us through all manner of circumstances and ideas to grow in love. This force is Love, is Beauty, is Harmony, is all Good. And I being One with this Good am a channel for its expression as I choose to be in my consciousness of It.
The Oneness means no separation, from my good or from other people, this is a blessing and a curse depending on how you use this Truth. It is a blessing in that nothing can ever be taken from me, it is a blessing in that I have the freedom to choose Love, it is a blessing in that no matter what circumstances come my way in the physical realm, no matter how things appear, I am always perfect whole and complete because I am connected on the unseen side of life to my Infinite Source. As I grow in awareness of the Truth of this I can embody more of the Good. If I choose ignorance I can create pain in this life for myself. If I choose to use my power for evil it returns to me. But even in the shadow I can look toward the light. The Essence is in all things, even seemingly evil actions. We can see it if we see in it the opportunity to choose differently. We see it in the challenge to see love even in people who choose unwisely, who seem to hurt or harm us or another.
Not even death can separate our Spirits from the One Spirit and nothing can ever harm us. We are all that this Essence is, all that this Essence which I call God is. Infinite Love, Infinite Wisdom, Balance, Health, Joy and Goodness, Infinite Creativity, Eternally filled with the Light, unquenchable and Everlasting. The Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. One.
